Lawn History
The earliest English gardens that we know of were planted by the Roman conquerors of Britain in the 1st century AD. In fact, the earliest "lawns" were essentially pastures, grazed by industrious rabbits and livestock. Not until the 1600s did the neatly cropped English-style lawn appear. Since those illustrious times people and their gardens have changed dramatically. Exceptionally pleasing to the eye is a lush green lawn and the splashed colours of a cottage border. However times have changed but the love for a beautiful lawn remains passionate in our hearts. We have the modern world we live in to blame for the now looked upon laborious task of maintaining the lawn but we also have the technology advanced life we live in to appreciate the creations of our times. History has shown where ever there is a need there is a creation.
Invention
